The City of Horicon’s Water Utility is a municipally owned and operated utility providing water service to residents and businesses. Policies and rates are set by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (WPSC). The City of Horicon has 3 wells, 2 water towers, and over 27 miles of water mains which provide almost 1,500 service connections to residents and businesses throughout the City.
The City of Horicon’s Water Utility’s mission is to provide safe, clean drinking water and water for fire protection, all while protecting the town’s water resources, upgrading and maintaining the distribution system, and providing good customer service.
Hydrant flushing is necessary to remove any naturally settled sediment from the pipes to ensure water quality. This also is a good time to test for adequate flow and pressure for each area. Fire hydrants are flushed twice each year. This usually is done in spring and fall. Dates will be posted here and in the Dodge County Pioneer when they are scheduled.
